Teresa Gleeson – 2st 7lbs

I wanted to lose weight and to get my health back on track.  I had been trying for a long time to lose the excess few stones, but nothing seemed to work! Every time the weight came off, it crept back on – even though I was active! My weight loss goal wasn’t just for appearance – I work 24/7 shifts and was constantly visiting my GP with kidney infections. My cholesterol was also very high. I knew I had to do something.

“I started on the Low GI plan in January and by July had reached my target, losing 2 stone and 7 lbs. I was expecting to be starving on the plan but I have actually never been hungry doing it.”

My cholesterol has reduced from 8 to 4. I have noticed a huge improvement in my quality of life too – Before I found that I didn’t sleep properly but now I have a regular sleeping pattern. I have loads of energy and basically life is just so much easier without all that extra weight!

“Shopping is great as I no longer have to go to the size 16 rack. I am now in a size 10 jeans and I can honestly say that this is the first time ever wearing this size.”

I do a lot of mountain walking now and my biggest achievement to date is that I climbed Carrantuohill in June. As the weight came off I was finding it easier to scale the mountains. To get to the top is such an amazing feeling. I am able to run on the treadmill for 30 minutes without stopping! It was a combination of the diet and exercise that got me to my goal.
